Post Natal Mat Pilates Consent Form

Introduction

The Pilates programme will begin at a low level and progress gradually based on your individual fitness level. You may stop at any time if you feel discomfort, pain, or fatigue. While Pilates is generally safe, as with any physical activity, there are inherent risks. These may include—but are not limited to—muscle soreness, dizziness, fainting, abnormal blood pressure, or in rare cases, serious medical events such as heart attack or stroke. Every reasonable effort will be made to minimise these risks through careful screening and professional guidance. Instructors are trained in CPR/first aid, and emergency procedures are in place.

Your Responsibilities

By signing this form, you confirm that:

  • You have completed a health questionnaire and disclosed relevant injuries or medical conditions.
  • You will notify your instructor before each session of any new symptoms, injuries, or changes in health status.
  • You understand that participation is voluntary and that you may stop at any time.
  • You agree to follow all safety instructions and use equipment appropriately.
  • You accept full responsibility for your participation and any health risks that may result.
  • A selection of toys will be available, but they are to be used at your own risk, as you are responsible for the safety of your baby throughout the class.

Postnatal Considerations

It is recommended that you have received medical clearance from your healthcare provider before resuming Pilates postnatally.
Exercises will be tailored to support your recovery, considering factors such as your type of delivery and the amount of time since giving birth.
You agree to communicate any discomfort, pain or concerns immediately during class.
If you experience any adverse symptoms during or after sessions, please stop exercising and consult your healthcare provider.

Hands-On Instruction

Pilates often requires precise alignment. Instructors may use light physical touch to guide your positioning. By signing this form, you consent to appropriate physical cueing. If you are uncomfortable with touch, please let the instructor know.
